Dear Parents,

Please find below the school calendar for this half term. As you can see, it is quite busy and there is a possibility of more events being added in the run up to Christmas.  The school calendar is also available on the school website and updated regularly https://stmarysllanelli.org .  Photos from many of our school activities and events can be found on our school Instagram and Twitter (X) pages @stmarysllanelli and @stmarysllanell1 respectively.  

November is a special month dedicated to the Holy Souls where we pray for and remember those who have passed away. Each Parish has a dedicated lists of Holy Souls. We would like to mirror this at school and ask that if you would like a dearly departed loved one or friend to be added to our prayers, please send their names on a slip of paper to your class teacher.

The PTA have secured a fantastic prize for the Christmas raffle however the date of the prize falls before the raffle ends therefore this is a standalone draw which will close on Monday 25th of November and be drawn on Tuesday 26th of November. This is a prize draw for four to go on the Polar Express Train Ride in Aberystwyth on Friday November 29th 2024 at 5:30pm. The date & time of the prize cannot be changed. Time off from school will be permitted for children attending. ​Details of the prize have been emailed to you already, including the above QR code which takes you to the railway’s promotional video. Tickets for this prize draw are £2 each. If you would like to participate and can attend on the date and time of the prize, please send in money to school with your child before next Monday 25th November. A separate Christmas raffle will take place before the end of term as well.

29^th November: We kindly ask for £2 per pupil in the Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 class as we have a fantastic drama company coming to school to perform “The Greediest Elf”. Please could you send £2 in by the 29^th of November.

4^th December: The PTA will host a Film Night after school. Details to follow.

6^th December is Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. We invite all pupils to wear Christmas jumpers/clothes on this day with all donations received going directly to Save the Children.

There are separate Christmas Performances this year with Foundation Phase (Nursery, Reception, Years 1 and 2) performing “The Wriggly Nativity” and Key Stage 2 (Y3-Y6) presenting a Carol Concert. More information regarding tickets will be coming out soon. Please see the calendar list below for dates and times of performances.

16^th December is party day for classes. Party clothes can be worn. Class teachers will ask for food donations to class parties closer to the time.

18^th December is Christmas dinner day. This is a turkey dinner with all the trimmings and a pudding. Please see parent pay for the full menu and to make your booking.

20^th December is the last day of term. School reopens after Christmas on Monday the 6^th of January 2025.
